Mel Gibson's Wife Files for Divorce

After 28 years of marriage, Robyn, Mel Gibson's wife has just filed to divorce her husband citing "irreconcilable differences." Ironically, Robyn signed the papers the day before Good Friday according to reports.

The couple were married in 1980 with no pre-nuptial aggrement according to TMZ.com. Henceforth, Mel Gibson amassed a fortune estimated at $900 million back in 2006 and under the laws of California, community property -- which includes earnings -- is divided 50/50.

Robyn, who has seven children with Gibson, has requested spousal support and attorneys' fees.She is also seeking joint physical and legal custody of their son, Tom, who turns 10 Tuesday. (Tom is their only child who is a minor.)

Robyn and Mel Gibson just issued a statement: "Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so."

It's so sad to know that another hollywood marriage is going down the drain. I don't know who between the couple is at fault in this impending separation and I'm not in the position to point any of my fingers. As of now, I think it will be best for us to give the privacy they're asking which they rightly so deserved.
